Your biggest obstacle is only yourself. Every “bad thing” is a lesson or a challenge, and you will come out brighter and stronger for it. I don’t think self love is not wanting to change, I think it’s about embracing change, and loving every minute with yourself. Stop promoting toxic “health” culture, stop promoting toxic people, and get back to yourself. Health is growth, growth is a change. You are not who you were yesterday, is that a better person? Maybe there is no perfect fit. What makes you FEEL good? What in you is what supports you? Now get to it, everything out there in the world still awaits 🌞🌎🌞

UNA HERIDA

Una herida
nunca se borra por completo. -
Un poema

O mil y una noches sin dormir...

Supongo que cada uno
cicatriza como puede.

The Yosemite Valley Chapel! With @paulclark / Erected in 1879 as a chapel, this picturesque building located in Yosemite is the oldest structure within the boundaries of this world-class National Park.

It lies really close to the Yosemite Falls, being one of the tallest waterfalls in the world at 2,425 feet high. As such, the surrounding scenery could not be more inspiring! The Chapel lies in the middle of the famous Yosemite Valley, surrounded by spectacular cliffs, beautiful meadows, and an impressive view of the Yosemite Falls.

Built at a cost of three to four thousand dollars (which today would be something around $100,000 due to inflation), the simple architectural design of the structure represents a particularly fine example of the early chapels constructed in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

However, the Chapel was not located here 100 years ago. It was moved from its original site at the beginning of the Four Mile Trail in 1901. At that time, it was apparently placed on a stone foundation. Around 1965 this foundation was raised about 3 feet to its present height.

Today, Yosemite Valley Chapel is a place of worship and fellowship, and it is not rare to see a wedding here once in a while! 🙂 Special greetings to @paulclark for sharing this special view with us! Paul always tries to show a different perspective of the most famous sites in the world. That is something worth celebrating!

In the past, this was the first line of defense against wildfires. Fire watchtowers were built on lone peaks with unparalleled views of large tracts of land so that the people residing inside could be on constant watch every summer. Men and women lived in these towers scanning for any lightning bolt or patch of smoke on the horizon, a duty that was of the utmost importance.
.
I worked as a wildland firefighter for a couple years and I understand why fire protection in BC should be an absolute ongoing priority. The situation is only going to get worse as the years go on and I don’t think anyone wants the “new normal” to be like this or last years fire seasons in BC. But,
how can we as individuals make a difference on the local level? What can we do?
.
To start, you can get a free fire assessment for your home and property to implement wildfire reduction strategies. I recently got one done through the FireSmart program locally, which was offered free of charge. You can also educate yourself on backcountry practices for having campfires or starting a cooking stove too. Overall, we just have to be safe and conscious of our actions and take small steps to prevent fires. If we can solely reduce human-caused fires then we are making a difference. It’s all about tiny, incremental steps that will lead to change.
