Since I’ve been home I’ve switched up my training splits 🤙🏻Today was a shoulder and back day and MAN...it was a good one!! 😅Here are some of the exercises; try out this workout and let me know how it treats you 😉

Transformation Tuesday. Probably about 2 years apart about 20 pounds difference. No fancy program but or diet is going to train your sheer will. You are either going to get it or your not. There aren’t no secret foods, secret weight lifting techniques, none of that, will ever take the place of your effort. Success don’t know that shit. It don’t know if you are tired, if it’s hot out, if your eating right, it just knows whether or not you showed up.  Introduce yourself to shit you don’t like. Make yourself uncomfortable. Try shit. Don’t be like everyone else. Never be scared of new things. Hit legs and shoulders today. Started off with front squat doing 185 for 3 sets of 6 with my heels elevated. With the heels elevated it really lets you go all the way down when you squat. I worked my way down to 155 for 3 sets of 6. After that I did walking lunges then leg extensions afterwards. For shoulders did seated military press and superset it with dumbbell raises to work the interior delt. Finished it off with some lateral raises. i am so so proud of how far my shoulders have come! i started working on my shoulders a few months before i started this hypertrophy program, just using resistance bands tied to my bed frame to do rotator cuff exercises. they've had a little head start on the rest of my body in that sense, but my shoulders have always been my weakest point - and in a lot of ways, they've been my biggest motivating factor. ---

Do you ever work on shoulder blade push-ups? They’re usually done in a hands-and-knees position (but there are lots of other variations too), and they’re becoming more of a staple movement in many yoga classes these days 👍🏼

These push-ups are a great way to improve our ability to differentiate shoulder blade (scapula) movement from spinal movement - something almost everyone could use!

Welllll once you’ve got the foundational scapula push-ups down, it’s time to up the ante a bit! 🔥

In this variation, I’ve increased the stability demands of the movement by placing blocks under my forearms, and my hands are also floating, so they can’t be my supportive base (whoa!!)

These changes make the shoulder blade push-ups SO challenging! I don’t even know if you can DO it - they are that challenging. Haha do you like how I said that? It’s mostly just to get you to try it so you can see what I mean 😜

However, make sure you can do regular shoulder blade push-ups well before you try these.

✨DO ANYWHERE WORKOUT✨ hi folks!!! it’s Tuesday and today I’ve got a quick workout you can do anywhere! All you need is some light weight plates (5-10lbs) or even some objects from around the house (books, water bottles, cans). Do each of the following exercises for 1 minute each, and repeat 3-5 times! This can be a full-body warmup or a stand-alone workout.

1. Curtsy lunge to double rainbow

2. Wall sit with front raise

3. Overhead lunge

4. Tricep kickback to bent over row

5. Figure 8’s

I pushed myself this morning. Lifted heavier for back and biceps. This 8 week program is AMAZING. It’s truly pushed me hard and only 4 days a week. I love having my trainer right there with me pushing me to the core!

Shoulders & traps w/ @jaredpacifico Front raises! Went back to the straight bar this evening for these. Been using the rope and dumbbells a lot for this movement so I wanted to switch it up to get a different feel... and I definitely felt these! 😅👌🏽

Alright, here is a workout that will hit all 3 heads of your deltoid muscle! (shoulders)
1️⃣ Rear Delt fly’s - we often neglect these, but they are actually my favorite to work! Hand position is key to working this muscle. If my palms were facing inward, it would be more of a back workout.
2️⃣ Front Delt raises - this works your front delt and a little bit of upper chest (the area right below your collarbone). Make sure your form is similar to mine, this one can be surprisingly hard to grasp.
3️⃣ Front Delt hold with front/side raise - this works both your front deltoid AND your middle (lateral) Delt. It’s a struggle holding one up the whole time😂
As always, keep your core highly engaged during these exercises!💪🏼

I still have so many feelings surrounding the past few weeks: Going pro at USA Nationals and jumping into my first pro show at the #portlandclassic in my hometown last weekend. It’s still all a little surreal... 🙏
Today I got acupuncture treatment, cupping, massage, and a chiropractic adjustment. ALL the things, lol... and all much needed self care work after a long AF competition season where all my fitness goals were accomplished for the year... wow, it’s so crazy to say that! 🙌🙌
This week it’s time to sit down and set some new goals for the rest of the year and my improvement season. I’m blown away by all that I’ve learned this year through competition prep... and the growth that’s occurred with me both mentally and physically in all areas of my life.
Never underestimate what you are capable of. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Believe it and you can achieve it. Cable front raise- using a cable allows constant tension along the movement of the exercise. Using the rope also allows you to target fibers deep within the muscle and to move through a fuller range of motion. Band face pull + pull apart combo

Creating a great training stimulus does not have to involve fancy equipment. Try this variation using only a band to blast your upper back and rear delts, all whilst promoting strong functional shoulders.

The face pull should be a staple in your program, but this variation requires you to actively pull the band apart as you pull you your face, thus creating a different vector of force.

Use it as a means to warm up your shoulders before you press, or elicit a nasty pump at the end of a workout with 20+ rep sets. Give it a go!

The two most common errors in performing dips involve the completeness of the movement.

Most people, when not being yelled at about it, will cut the depth off above parallel. They do this because it is easier to do a partial dip than a full dip, just as it's easier to do a partial squat than a full squat. A partial dip does not carry the injury potential that a partial squat does. But partial dips are not as valuable as deep dips for the same reason that half-squats are less than adequate: they work less muscle mass. If you go to the trouble of loading a dip belt to do the exercise weighted, and then cheat the depth, you are just wasting training time and kidding yourself about how strong you are, just like when you cheat any other exercise. Do your dips deep, with a lighter weight if necessary, so you don't miss the actual benefit.

The other problem is a failure to lock out the elbows at the top between reps. This is not the heinous crime that cutting off the depth is, because it is usually unintentional. Tired triceps don't always know they are not completely contracted. The chest-up position at the finish helps cue the elbow lockout because it pulls the mass of the upper part of the torso behind the hands so that the triceps can extend the elbows against a more evenly distributed load.
