I’ve had more breakthroughs in training this year than any other, yesterday just wasn’t one of those days. I don’t want to make any excuses, as I find us ultra-people make them too often when attempting to explain a day that didn’t go exactly the way we’d hoped. I’m feeling super thankful for a crew that kept me positive and was dialed in at aid stations (thank you Marin, Kristen, Rob, Laia, Olly, and Bandit). I felt strong physically, but unfortunately the Sudafed I took didn’t stop me from coughing my brains out and forced me into shallow small breaths. I fell behind on calories from a silly mental fear that my coughing would cause me to throw up. At mile 28 I was depleted and I got destroyed by the heat from mile 28-40. I walked every step, including downhills, with legs that felt like I had just gotten started. My goal at this point and one of the biggest reasons I kept myself moving, was seeing my everything, Marin at mile 47.4. With every mile that passed I thought to myself “15 until you see Marin.... only 10 more miles until you see Marin... 5 more, she’s close dude just push” ❤️ @itsmarincita Eventually with some prodding from my pacer (@rlmbarlow) I got some food down and woke up. I passed about 12 runners from mile 41-50 and finished in 9:42 for 14th. Proud to finish this one and absolutely chomping at the bit to get back to training. Next up: Fat Dog 120. If i could give only 1 piece of health advice, it would be to replace all of your refined carbohydrate foods with complex carbohydrates. Specifically fruit and vegetables. Sugar and flour can cause serious hormonal imbalances which can cause a false alarm in your hunger hormones like Ghrelin. Sugar in extreme moderation is ok. For instance I allow myself a few treat foods every Saturday night. Like pizza and ice cream or a burger and cake. However that is it. I don’t feel deprived, because on 2 other days a week I eat 2500 plus calories of all natural foods which do an amazing job of satiating you without spiking your insulin levels. You can eat 4 apples and still eat less calories than in a candy bar. Now when i feel the urge to binge, I just crush more fruit! Honestly most people can get in shape by just replacing refined carbs with healthy carbs. Without consciously trying to create a huge calorie deficit. If you stop eating sugar and flour and eat more fruits and vegetables most peoples hormones will repair themselves and help their hunger hormonal system work properly. Give it a go this transformation Tuesday. Swap your sugar and flour for Brocoli and apples :) I did, Swipe right to see what happened when I did :)

Half way done with My cut that I started at the beginning of March. My new workout and meal plan, have made this the easiest and most enjoyable cut I have ever done. I weighed 175lbs on the left and 164 on the right as of this AM. 11 lbs in 11 weeks, is right on plan. I have not had any urge to binge or felt deprived during my cut this time. In the past I have usually taken 3 steps forward and 1 step back. This time it has been 11 steps forward 0 back. I have progressed a minimum of .25 lbs every single week! The trick for me is listed below 🤐Intermittent Fastin 🥩🥗 Whole Foods 🍪Calorie and Carb cycling 💪🏻Heavy weight training only 3 times per week. 🚶🏻‍♂️Walking 30-60 minutes per day! 🥅My overall goal is about 155lbs depending on look and feel! ❓Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

I’m not even close to being the most fit I’ve ever been. Two beautiful babies in the past two years and lots of growing pains later, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. I have endured a season of growth mentally, physically and spiritually and I praise the Lord for it. #80dayobsession was hard but I had my wonderful husband and toddler cheering me on.
