Functional Fitness is my 💥JAM💥
So, I like to talk about it...😊 💁‍♀️ I don't live to or LOVE  exercise...but for me it's how I keep improving the quality of my life.  That's why I do exercises that train my muscles to help me do everyday activities safely and easily. 
Things like scrubbing the floors (killed my back🙄) or picking something up off the floor (lunges & squats). Carrying groceries or playing with grandkids.❤ I have found that my injuries and my back and hip pain have disappeared since I've been doing exercise consistently🙌🙌 😉😘And it's perfect for us middle aged peeps for improving our balance, our agility and our muscle strength.  You know we need that now...when we are walking on ice and snow!! ❄☃️ It really helps as I found out tonight! 😮

I haven’t had a cheat meal in 12 days, and some may say, “well this doesn’t look like a cheat meal!” But to me it is. I upped my calorie intake and had 2 small glasses of pink moscato. I probably won’t be in #ketosis tomorrow morning but I’m okay with that. #Fasting starts tomorrow! .

Okay, so I’m getting serious about my nutrition now that I’m trying to pack n muscle but not add any fat (let’s do this at Christmas time! 🤣). So, inspired by the amazing veggies I had at a local restaurant yesterday, I roasted a pan of carrots, beets, and baby eggplant. Tossed in olive oil and  sprinkled with Montreal Steak Spice and voila! I’ve been eating them off the pan like candy...

Combine 1/4 c chia seeds with 1/2 coconut milk, 1/2 c almond milk, 1 tbsp agave (maple syrup flavor is my favorite), 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1 mashed banana. Let it sit overnight and top with bananas, shredded coconut, and any other fruit! #healthymamas

Maybe it’s due to the holidays, my schedule, or my iron levels...🤷🏻‍♀️ but I’ve been feeling extremely tired these days. To ensure that my iron levels are normal, I’m making a greater effort to include Vitamin C-rich foods in my meals. Doing this increases my absorption of iron-rich foods 🥝
Today I had kiwi with my lunch. Kiwi is an underrated fruit. It actually contains more Vitamin C than an orange. You can also eat the skin and you should because it contains fiber, which aids in healthy digestion.

It’s crazy the change your body can make when you challenge yourself and really put in work to achieve your goals! But we all start somewhere! I never thought I’d be happy about gaining weight. But lifting weights and cleaning up my diet has seriously changed my life! Definitely proud of this Transformation Tuesday. It hasn’t been easy, but if it was... It wouldn’t be worth it 😉 •

Grundlegende Frage vorweg: Brauche ich unbedingt Supplements um im Training Ergebnisse zu erzielen bzw abzunehmen? Nein. Solange man sich ausgewogen, gesund & eiweißlastig ernährt, wirst du auch ohne Nahrungsergänzungsmittel Muskeln aufbauen bzw Fett abbauen können. Ich selbst nehme allerdings auch Supplements. Da ich Vegetarierin bin, nehme ich Magnesium, Vitamin B12 & B6, sowie Eisen zu mir. Außerdem supplementiere ich Whey, welches dafür sorgt, dass ich auch ohne Fleischkonsum auf meine 2g/kg Eiweiß täglich komme. Besonders ans Herz legen kann ich euch die veganen Proteinshakes von @310nutrition, da diese nicht nur wie gewöhnliche Whey Proteine ausschließlich Aminosäuren enthalten, sondern auch den Bedarf an vielen Mineral-& Mikronährstoffen decken. In ihnen ist Magnesium, Eisen, Calcium, Vitamin B12 & B6, sowie Vitamin D etc enthalten, was den Vegetariern & Veganern ungemein zu Gute kommt! Zudem sind die Shakes gluten- & laktosefrei💪🏼 Proteinshakes im Allgemeinen sind aber ziemlich nützlich, deshalb nur zu empfehlen. BCAAs hingegen sind reine Geldverschwendung meiner Meinung nach, da die Aminosäuren, die dort enthalten sind schon im Whey stecken & das dann allein ausreicht. Kreatin hingegen ist finde ich in Ordnung zur Kraftsteigerung & für bessere Leistungsfähigkeit aber es ist jetzt auch nicht unbedingt notwendig. Learn to rest not quit! 
In life, relationships, dream chasing, working out— if you get tired, learn to rest not quit. 
Life doesn’t magically slow down. You have to choose to make it a priority. 
Being in a constant state of “busy” is not a badge of honor! Stop wearing it. 
When was the last time you truly rested? Like totally unplugged and read a book, took a trip just because, or even something as simple as taking a nap? 
Rest is so important! You can do anything, but not everything. Make it a point to get some rest this weekend 😊
